RESEARCH PROJECTS

Northfield Habitat Corridors, Spring Semester 2003
Used GIS (ArcView 3.2a) to recommend a system of corridors to link existing natural areas in the Northfield, MN area. Based recommendations on literature review and community input. See the project website for full details.

Age and Size Structure of Relic Fir Populations, Summer 2002 to Spring 2003
Analyzed the age and size of relic balsam fir (Abies balsamea) (L.) Mill. populations in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa using dendrochronolgy. Current age of stands will hopefully give insight into future population viability.
